Santa's Economic Downturn

  • Nobody's Perfect Art

($25) Original letterpress art by Ross MacDonald, whom I met in Savannah. For the true graphics nerd.

  • "Infinity" Wall Clock

($35) If you've ever been a victim of my punctuality (or lack thereof), you'll understand why more clocks are always better. Besides, this is pretty cool.

  • Crockpot

One of these days I'll actually learn how to cook; and I heard these were pretty much idiot-proof. I'm partial to stainless steel, but otherwise have no preference whatsoever.

  • Scarf

($15 - 40) I don't know if I'm really a scarf-person, but everyone else around here has one, and they look cool wearing them. I'm partial to bold colors (red?) and funky designs. Gap's (PRODUCT) RED versions are kind of neat, but I'm open to anything.

  • "Objectified" T-shirt

($20, men's LG) Another cool designer-y product. I know what you're thinking: and yes, it IS tough to be as cool as me. :-)

  • ShamWow!

($20) Call it great advertising, but I think this product is something my home needs. :-)

  • High Fidelity DVD

($15) If you like, I can give you the Top 5 Reasons I Like this Movie. Plus, I think Amazon offers it as a 2-disc set with "Grosse Point Blank" - another favorite of mine.

  • Reality Bites DVD

($15) Along with "Singles" this movie sort of defined me in college…

  • "Home" Wall Art

($30) The fact that no two are alike makes this less "Better Homes & Gardens" and more "retro cool."

  • DNA Portrait Wall Art

($499) This definitely qualifies as a 'luxury' gift - but you have to admit, it is pretty cool. I'm partial to gallery-stretched frames and the colors Firesky and Citron; a high-res download and gene identifier would be must-haves as well.

  • "Big Boy" Camera (Donate to the Camera Fund!)

(Nikon D200: $600+; Nikon D90: $1,100+) I think all those years around professional photographers have effectively ruined me for point-and-shoot cameras - and I'd really like to add photography to my list of expensive hobbies. :-)

  • Homeowner Assistance Fund

Even though my place is "completely remodeled" I find the tractor-beam of home improvement inescapable. Help contribute to my fence, landscaping, painting and/or unforseen disaster fund.

  • Wall-Mounted Wine Rack

($52; black rubber finish) I don't really drink wine (though I'd like to learn), but you can't ignore the coolness factor of this wine rack.
